Top notch shop at the Jersey Shore. Chris and his staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They really seem to want to put the kayak angler in equipment that is right for them. They have a very nice selection of kayaks and accessories for the beginner and more experienced paddler and fisherman. On top of this they also can help with rigging your kayak. Chris Parson is a great source of kayak knowledge as well as local information that will help get customers out enjoying the water and the sport.
Place is great. Family owned and operated. They always have everything from that little doodad you just lost all the way up to fully tricked out customized kayaks. They even dispense free knowledge about the local waterways for fishing or cruising in your kayak. Plus, the fact that they offer 24/7/365 access to your securely stored kayak is priceless. I don't shop anywhere else. Give them a call or stop by...you'll be glad you did.
Emailed Chris for weeks, even months leading up to my purchase (It is a 2.5 hours drive for me), had a few conversations about what I was going to use the kayak for and where I was planning on fishing. He gave me a few options, then I made a decision, decided to go with a Eddyline Caribbean 14. He kept it for me till I was able to make it down. I thought I got a sweet deal on my new ride. Never met anyone more knowledgeable about kayaks and accessories. Really goes above and beyond, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Caught some nice fish on it this year too.
The Kayak Fishing Store was such a pleasant surprise! My husband and I were looking for a few small additions to our beginner kayaks and happened to stumble upon Chris' spot! We were greeted with a friendly face and spent about an hour just browsing the store and chatting with Chris. He's so very knowledgeable and really takes the time to understand customer needs! We told him that we travel full time, and he offered to ship us anything we'd need in the future. Awesome experience and a great little shop!
This is the only store I go to. My wife and I kayak fish much as possible. We have kayaks but we rent from TKFS for guests we bring. They treat us very well. Helpful, friendly and informative staff. The store is well stocked with kayak specific fishing products at reasonable prices. It's not just the place to go if you forgot something and you're forced to buy it again. Other places have really taken advantage of me in the past. The Kayak Fishing Store is not like that. I can't say enough good stuff about them. I've read the other reviews here that claim they're not open during their posted hours and this is a crock. I've been dealing with them 2 times a month for 3 years and never had this experience. I think those reviews are phony.
